NES Cartridge External HD: An Homage to Old School Games

Just like a lot of people, we had Nintendo Entertainment Systems at home. It was the first console that started it all for a lot of game players. The others just followed this 8-bit wonder. Well, as a testament to the NES, the guys over at 8-Bit Memory will convert NES cartridge games to fully functional external hard drives.

8-Bit Memory rips out the guts of the original NES cartridge. If you've ever looked inside one, you'll agree that there isn't much to rip out! The retrofitted NES cartridges work like any other external hard drive. These drives don't have fans, which makes them silent, but they have a propensity to overheat if switched on for too long periods. That doesn't matter if you are just using this to lug around your personal data. This means that they only need to be plugged into a USB port to function, no other wires needed.

The basic model costs about $120 for 250 GB, however custom 320 GB, 400 GB, 500 GB, and 750 GB are available for an extra charge. For a limited time, all 250 GB hard drives will get a free upgrade to 320 GB. We like how this is an homage to old school gaming and games. For anyone needing a cool looking hard drive, this would be the one to get.
