For some of us planning-averse types, hashing out a disaster-free Valentine’s Day itinerary can get rather complicated. From deciding whether to go out or stay in to not knowing whether to buy a card for that person you’re kinda sorta dating, there are just way too much annoying little boxes to check off your romance-themed to-do list. But preparation is a must because the last thing you want to experience is settle in with your Netflix and chill V-Day partner only to create an awkward (and potentially passion-destroying) moment simply because you couldn’t settle on a film that agreed with both of your sensibilities.

To avoid that awful scenario, choose a route that’s both proactive and fun: the Valentine’s Day edition of Reelgood’s Netflix Roulette tool. A romance-themed riff on their existent Netflix “randomizer” tool, the monthly feature is pretty straightforward and easy to use. You simply click the “spin” button and the interface will display a random romantic date night film to watch with your partner (or alone, or with your pet). In order to increase your chances of finding “love at first spin,” there’s also an option that allows users to filter their results based on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes ratings.

Including romantic movies like “Sixteen Candles,” “HER,” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,” the site will search all of your lovey-dovey Netflix faves, but users can also add HBO, Amazon Prime, FX, Hulu, Showtime, Starz or any other streaming service to the mix in order to expand their results, thereby reducing the likelihood of creating a Valentine’s Day horror story over a movie selection gone bad.
