Netflix’s New Show Gives You a Peek Inside Some Seriously Extraordinary Homes

HGTV fans, you might want to check out Netflix for your latest house crushes. The streaming service just released four episodes of a British series that gives viewers a peek inside some seriously extraordinary homes.

The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes makes its US debut on Monday on Netflix, having aired in 2017 on BBC Two. Architect Piers Taylor and actress and property enthusiast Caroline Quentin serve as the hosts, and they travel around the globe so that we can experience some amazing architecture from the inside and out.

The episodes are broken down by location, with the first season taking place in the mountains, forests, coasts, and underground. In each hour long program, Piers and Caroline explore multiple properties, each somehow more impressive than the next, and talk to the owners and architects to find out just how the places came to be. In that extremely British way, you can feel the hosts’ genuine excitement about each of the properties, as they jump on the roof of one home, made from the wing of a retired Boeing 747, or take in the breathtaking view of the Alps from a chalet in Switzerland.

If you power through the first four episodes, there’s good news: Season two is currently airing in the UK, so we can hopefully expect more in the future. But if you can’t wait that long, we suggest streaming another British favorite, Grand Designs, in the meantime.

The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes season one is available to stream on Netflix starting March 5.
