Q: Hi! We are FINALLY painting our big ugly house. It is currently a crazy salmon hot mess [photo below]. Our taste is actually very modern and we love how the inside has turned out. We’re trying to figure out the outside, especially the paint color that might be okay with the red roof we have…

We love white or light grey but are wondering if this is the best idea for our house. Maybe white trim and a slate grey door? (I would love a color door but we are thinking we don’t want it to look like Ronald McDonald with the red roof.) Someone else suggested a sage green with white trim and so we would probably just stain the door a light color. The top of the house has black around the windows because they were just replaced and the stucco is being repaired. We live in Los Angeles BTW.

We are redoing the front porch and putting in a new modern door/ditching the side lights. Thank you for any help!! -Sent by Julia
