In the early 2000s, Pier One Imports was the epitome of worldly sophistication for me, what with its exotic wood furniture, beaded throw pillows and Buddha statues galore. When I redecorated my post-collegiate bedroom, I hit up the store for unique international treasures. “Why yes, these ruffled dupioni silk throw pillows are from the foreign land of Kissimmee, Florida.” Fast forward a decade, and I’ve discovered a new local mecca for global goods: World Market. Sorry Pier One, but World Market has you beat with their modern-meets-Moroccan products, and whether their wares came from Istanbul or Indianapolis, I’d still love their style. I’ve taken the liberty of rounding up my favorite 11 pieces from the brand’s newest introductions, as well as two previously released offerings I couldn’t help but to include.

The organic lines of cowhide rugs soften any room they’re placed in, but if you’re not into having the skin of ol’ Bessie on your living room floor, a faux version might be for you.

Ah the versatile pouf. Part footstool, part impromptu seat, part side table. Though these typically come in a rainbow of colors, I prefer the earthy hazelnut-y hue of this one.

I can think of so many things besides bread to store in these luscious baskets.

Baskets are like $100 bills: You can never have too many.

Shaken? Stirred? Who cares when it’s served up using this delicious bar tool set. (No, but for real, shaken, of course.)

Bookcases take up a ton of space in small dwellings, which is why I love wall shelves. The blonde wood feels a little Scandi, and the steel brackets lend a little warm industrial vide.

I love everything about this chair. The mid-century silhouette, the rich inky blue color, the slight roll arm and the delicate button tufting.

Sure, it’s just a paper towel holder, but it’s a marble paper towel holder. Yes, please.

My bar cart is more ginger beer and pretty straws than liquor, but I could make some changes if that means displaying spirits in something as eye-catching as this decanter.

Black and brass is always a winning combination, and this champagne/ice bucket would look oh so pretty on my bar cart.

This piece and the next are not technically brand new, but they’re so great, I had to make a spot for them on our love list. This peacock chair fulfills my inner bohemian, but the satiny black speaks to my modern sensibilities. It’s two glorious decor worlds colliding in one chair. Bravo.

Again, not a new product, but definitely a standout of the brand’s lineup. Similar starburst chandeliers have graced the homes featured in the pages of my favorite shelter magazines, so I’m happy to see a more affordable option available.
