In honor of love, February, and gorgeous real estate, I put together another Real Estate Rom Com featuring this stunning home on Sotheby’s International Realty.

EXT- STATELY VICTORIAN HOME, FRENCHTOWN, NEW JERSEY

A minivan turns a corner and pulls into the driveway of 49 Kingwood Ave. FAMILY FOCUSED SISTER takes a big gulp of her very big coffee as she pushes her even bigger sunglasses to the top of her head. She glances at herself in the rearview mirror, where did the time go? She thinks.

As she walks up the steps of the boldly-colored, stately seven-bedroom, five-bathroom Victorian, she simply can’t believe that her recently deceased Aunt left the home to her and her two sisters. As she steps foot onto the large front porch, complete with mahogany flooring and original details, FREE SPIRIT SISTER throws open the front door, letting one of her three shawls slip to the floor and land gently on her Aunt’s beloved cat. The two sisters and the cat head through the foyer past the three-story staircase with original railings, churning up memories of hide-and-go-seek for the both of them.

INT- STATELY VICTORIAN HOME

As they take their place around the large wood island with soapstone counters in the middle of the lovingly updated kitchen, they hear UPTIGHT BUT SECRETLY A WITCH SISTER slam the door of her Uber shut. They stay where they are, knowing that she will choose to wander into the full backyard to admire the shed and acreage attached to the property.

As she enters through the covered back porch, UPTIGHT BUT SECRETLY A WITCH SISTER wastes no time wondering why their Aunt would leave the house to her three single nieces who had grown apart in recent years and not put it on the market for $1,490,000? Why give it to them after going through all of the painstaking updates in 2015 that preserved the historical character of the home while adding modern amenities? Her train of thought was interrupted by FREE SPIRIT SISTER’s suggestion that they decide which of the bedrooms with sitting rooms and updated bathrooms with radiant flooring each of them should take.

UPTIGHT BUT SECRETLY A WITCH SISTER turns to the spiral staircase in the kitchen, which leads to the former servants quarters, “I’ll take that one,” she says, remembering that the multi-use space is where she first discovered she was different from the others. FREE SPIRIT SISTER and FAMILY FOCUSED SISTER shrug as they head off into the home, admiring the wide plank pine floors.

UPTIGHT BUT SECRETLY A WITCH SISTER begins to unpack, but as she looks out the window, she sees THE BOY WHO GREW UP NEXT DOOR BUT WHO IS NOW A VERY STRONG MAN in his garden. She thinks there may be a possibility for romance, but knows that what matters in this particular instance is the love of the family she’s had all along.
