New Resource for Contemporary Art: Exhibition A
A new site hit the web recently, allowing contemporary art fans to get a hold of works by well-known artists in the form of limited edition, high-quality prints that won’t break the bank.
A service for both the collector as well as the average dilettante, Exhibition A began with the intent to “give anyone with a blank wall to fill the opportunity to own a work of art.” Started by fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, gallery owner (and judge on Bravo’s Work of Art!) Bill Powers, Laura Martin and Gabby Munoz, the members-only site offers high-quality exclusive edition prints created through the closely combined efforts of some of today’s top contemporary artists.
Each week, new editions will be made available for purchase in various sizes as either frameless prints or on ready-to-hang stretched canvas. With limited open time editions available for only two to four weeks and limited editions that are actually hand-signed by the artists, the exclusivity of Exhibition A’s model will definitely be attractive to collectors and art fans alike.
Current editions include artists such as Rene Richard, Les Rogers and Hermann Amann at prices ranging modestly from $100-$500. It’s great to see a web-based service making such high caliber works both accessible and affordable to more people – and with buzz about the exciting lineup of upcoming editions by artists like Nate Lowman, Terence Koh, and David LaChapelle, Exhibition A runs the risk of becoming a highly addictive resource.
