The Green Project

What are you doing for Earth Day? What about donating $10 to a green organization, helping New Orleans, and possibly winning some green swag?

Thanks to Great Green Goods, we learned about a benefit for one of the few green resources in a city struggling to rebuild itself.

Cristal, a former NOLA resident, is coordinating a fundraiser for The Green Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creatively promoting and encouraging environmental sustainability in New Orleans. They recycle building materials and paint, deconstruct homes, and salvage usable materials.

For a mere $10 donation, you’re entered into a raffle for some cool green gift bags. And while the raffle was originally scheduled for April 26, the bags keep growing, and as of yesterday, one winner will be chosen on each of the following dates: May 1, May 16, and June 1.

The bags are full of easy things that will help you to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Items include CFL bulbs, water conservation tools, a Sigg stainless steel water bottle, biodegradable laundry detergent, and a Preserve toothbrush.
