Other favorite nursery from the contest: I really liked #10 - Finn's Soothing Sleeper. I loved the clean simplicity of the room; it was uncluttered and practical with a soothing color palette. I really like look of Jenny Lind cribs, Dwell bedding, and Ikea cube shelves... and I think I saw the corner of a danish modern dresser?! The Flor tiles and lantern lights added a whimsical element... and the pillow on the comfy upholstered rocker was fabulous! Definitely something that could grow with the child... I loved it.

In your child's room, tell us about and show us your favorite colorful object?:
I'd have to say that I'm very happy with the slipcover for our Poang chair. I went around and around before deciding on fabric because I wanted something that balanced out the graphic dots of the bedding by adding a softer element, but without competing visually... The Amy Butler fabric had touches of lime green, which I love (and painted the doll bed and the back of the bookcase with...), and almost the exact shade of sky blue from the wall color. The 'mustard' background of the fabric tied in the warmth of wood floor and doors. The flowers were still 'graphic', but didn't overtake the room or detract from the other patterns. I then found the "non-color" white Vinde pillow from Ikea that had a mod circle pattern in the texture to tie in with the bedding, so it was a perfect fit... The chair itself is comfortable, too, so I'm sure it will only become more of a favorite once the baby is home.
