Siria and Emmanuel were lucky to score a Harlem apartment with great bones: High ceilings makes the space feel spacious, a heavy but glorious fireplace is a bold focal point, and a dark-wood hallway is a striking statement. But it's how Siria and Emmanuel have furnished the space that makes it so inspiring. Budget buys, thrifted finds, and plenty of products from their favorite stores all blend together to create an ultra functional but completely one-of-a-kind space.
This small studio doesn't just house two people and their things, it's also got to fit all of Siria's professional passions, too. Originally raised in the Bronx, Siria is a director, photographer, and blogger who started her blog way back in 2008, and transformed it into a successful business in 2015. Her aim is to "connect the urban creative community through content that inspires..." She frequently shares tips and ideas about fashion, art, lifestyle, travel, tech, and more, as well as has a YouTube channel. She's just one half of the creative couple that calls this space home; Emmanuel is an art director and designer, whose keen eye for aesthetics has helped shape the studio's style.
They've used the natural features of the apartment to put a unique, creative stamp on the apartment. The garden fireplace brings greenery and an extra pop of color into the apartment and the framed gallery wall displays some of Siria's own photography work. Wayfair and The Container Store are both frequent go-to places for pieces of furniture. But they aren't impulse buyers; with so little space and just one room they do seek out function and organization when possible.
