If you’ve ever fantasized about living in New York City with no consequences to your wallet, this dream job is calling your name.

The Alliance for Downtown New York—a nonprofit that aims to raise awareness for and build business in lower Manhattan—is looking for the right person to spend the summer exploring the area and documenting it along the way. Officially called the Explorer in Chief, this person will get paid to experience everything NYC has to offer while living in the Wall Street area at no cost. Yes, we’re talking free rent.

The company is searching for what they call an “urban explorer” to “show the world Lower Manhattan through their eyes,” according to the official job posting. While they don’t dive into specific activities, the promotional video showcases some of NYC’s most iconic monuments—from One World Trade to the Statue of Liberty—so we can imagine the experiences won’t disappoint.

Here’s what the ideal applicant looks like: someone who is comfortable in front of the camera and can capture compelling content that showcases the greatness that New York City has to offer. So in short, someone who is good with a camera and can communicate well on film. You also have to be 21 or older to apply and are able to legally work in the United States (although you don’t have to be from the U.S.).

To apply, send in a video that’s 60 seconds or less showcasing your story and why you should be Lower Manhattan’s next Explorer in Chief. While the applicant is free to express their creativity however they please, the Alliance for Downtown New York suggests to “speak to the camera directly, explore a hidden gem in your town, sing a song, write a poem, beat box, break dance, anything.”

After creating the video, post it to your YouTube account and send it through in the official submission form. And you’re the lucky winner, you’ll get a roundtrip flight to stay in NYC from June 1, 2020 to August 30, 2020.
