For anyone who's watched RuPaul's Drag Race or has seen your local queens perform in person, you know that drag is an art form. Well, here's a project that is art times 365. Last year, Phi Phi O'Hara undertook 365 Days of Drag, creating a new look and posting it to Instagram every day in 2016 (Leap Day being the exception). Check out some of the best nostalgia-inducing examples below:
You might know Phi Phi as the "villain" on season four of Drag Race, the hit reality show on Logo, or her more recent return to the workroom for All-Stars Season 2 last year, where she competed for ru-demption against nine other queens from past seasons. No matter your opinion of her on the popular show, it can't be denied that her art is impressive.
Drag Race season four O'Hara was quite the pageant queen, but really found herself (and built a huge fanbase) when she started doing cosplay. Characters from video games, anime, and cartoons all get the Phi Phi treatment. Here are just a few of our favorites from her 365 Days of Drag project:
Where in the world is Phi Phi O'Hara?
[ 42/365 ] #365DaysOfDrag "90S CARTOONS!" NEXT UP.....#DOT! #Animaniacs I used one of the prosthetic noses I made, and for the eyes, they are open, I simply put in my black sclera lenses and used Kryolan Aquacolor to draw the ovals around my eyes. I cut an old wig and sprayed it to keep its shape and pulled the wig over my ears since DOT doesn't have ears like humans.
