In a past life, we collected Elvis Presley memorabilia and windsocks that we hung from our bedroom ceiling. While we don't collect anything currently, we would definitely go for items that pull double duty. Take for instance Patricia's basket collection,
In the large boxes, Patricia stores tissue paper, ribbon and craft supplies. Each basket and bin is labeled on the side so as not to distract from the visual impact of the large grouping. Patricia tells us that she uses the empty baskets for holding flatware and napkins while entertaining and also as a bread basket. Our favorite reuse is when Patricia sticks a new plant inside one of these baskets to hide an unsightly plastic container.
The textures and colors are a wonderful sight in this open armoire. Because the piece of furniture is neutral, the baskets pop from their surrounding--making us want to peek inside each one.
