Your home's vertical space is an important element in home organization. Shelving, either custom built or off the rack, can be arranged in a variety of ways that will not only keep your treasures off the floor but make for a design element all on it's own.

Using interesting shelving can introduce color and pattern into your space as well as keep you organized. As you can see from these inspirational photos, courtesy of Singapore's Home & Decor magazine , shelving comes in all different shapes and sizes. When choosing shelving it's important to consider what it is you wish to display. A combination of open and closed shelving can help organize both things you want to display and items you don't. Even a small shelf can work wonders when organizing small spaces. If your budget only allows for low-budget shelving, consider tailoring the unit with paint, vintage wallpaper or stencils.
