Although a broom and a mop can do wonders in some places, a vacuum cleaner is essential in most homes. But considering which vacuum to choose, with price, filtration, cleaning performance and energy efficiency can make choosing the right vacuum a task for those who just want to get their home cleaned, easily and quickly. These are our personal favorite vacuum models, representing a wide array of budgets and styles.

1. Dyson DC25
Our colleague Kristen just bought herself a new DC25 last month and we're itching to see how it fares in our test lab. This is a good vacuum, but it is expensive. However, if you have pets, this will definitely take care of business

2. Dirt Devil Featherlite Vacuum
With a low price and good looks, this affordable vacuum sets itself apart. It also did well when we put it through its paces in our test lab.

3. Dyson City DC26
You want a Dyson, but the bigger models just seem to big for your home? Check out the Dyson City DC26. It's very small yet has quite the sucking power.

4. Samsung Stealth Vacuums
If noise is a big concern of yours, then the Samsung stealth vacuums might work for your home. They are almost whisper-quiet and will most certainly not disturb your children when you clean.

5. MSI Robot Vacuums
These robot vacuums by MSI are taking on the successful Roomba and are available in a bunch of different models.
