Oversized Sinks In The Kitchen & Bathroom

Last week I brought you Farmhouse Sink inspiration and I admitted that what initially attracted me to them was their oversized shape. I dream of the day that my sink won't be filled to the brim after only a few dishes.

It's a shame that the average house doesn't have an ample sized kitchen sink and luckily, there are so many different kinds that can be installed (with a little countertop modification, of course). Oversized sinks can be made out of poured cement, porcelain, marble or well, just about anything. The rustic look of an oversized poured cement sink will transport you back to that tropical vacation. It exudes a relaxed, rustic and romantic vibe that'll make you want to spend all of your time in the kitchen.

A more streamlined approach is marble or stainless steel. Those materials used in an oversized format will modernize the kitchen while still maintaining a slightly vintage feel. Of course, oversized vintage porcelain sinks are still alive and well if you aren't lucky enough to have one in your kitchen, they're easily found. White is the most popular, but how can you resist a powder blue oversized country sink?
