What happens when you mix a whimsical, Alice-in-Wonderland sensibility with soft pastel colors, Scandinavian design, and a touch of the 80s design group Memphis? An apartment not quite like anything you’ve ever seen before.

The apartment, located above Paris department store Marie Sixtine, is available for overnight accommodations for ‘special guests’ of the store.

The spacious suite, decorated in a palette of pastels and light wood, with here and there a touch of gold and black, consists of a dining room with kitchenette, a rather large bathroom with a freestanding tub, and a bedroom where a wood canopy, arching over the bed, creates the feel of a cocoon.

Whimsical touches, like the oversized botanical wallpaper in the bedroom and the array of knitted poufs in the dining room, contribute to the otherworldly feel. It’s in the kitchen — where a speckled stone countertop sits against a background of the palest pink — that the Memphis influence is most strongly felt.
