In my parents house there is the narrowest, loveliest little bathroom. The bright white wainscoting reflects light from the tall, skinny window onto the pearlescent highlights of my grandfather's shaving mug collection.
The mugs, which have the potential to look too busy or precious, bring such warmth and interest the all-white room. It's like a tiny shaving mug museum! As you can see on the edge of the second photo, there is a second shelf above that's also lined with mugs. I couldn't seem to get the right angle to shoot both, despite some serious contortions. I think that's what impresses me the most: they've created a fascinating, beautiful display that fits perfectly in the constraints of an oddly-shaped room, without any feeling of crowding or clutter.
