Basic Picnic Basket Essentials

A picnic in a beautiful environment is a great escape and is on our "Must Do" list for the summer. It can also serve as a romantic date as exemplified in one of my favorite films, "Something's Gotta Give" with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton. My favorite scene is the picnic on the shore, where they begin to develop a romantic infatuation with each other. Convince your summer fling or significant other to whisk you away for an evening picnic - here is a list of essentials for the basket…

Whether the picnic is located at a secluded beach or a shaded park, the consistent basket essentials revolve around food and dining basics. To intensify a particular mood, you may want to stash fresh flowers, candles (and matches), and a portable music player. Other particulars to keep in mind is the need for sunscreen, an umbrella, or both for a bright summer day picnic. For a picnic by night, lighting is going to be essential and a simple lantern may do just the trick.

10 Basic Picnic Basket Essentials:

  • Lunch, dinner, or small treats
  • Wine or Fresh Lemonade
  • Glassware Including Wine Glasses
  • Tea Cups
  • Flatware
  • Dinnerware
  • Corkscrew
  • Napkins
  • Blanket
  • Ice or Ice Packs

What are your favorite summer picnic memories?
