We’d all love to travel the world, but sometimes you need to settle for curling up at home. So when we saw that people were turning vintage globes into pendant lights, we decided to comb Pinterest—and all the crafty people there—to see a variety of different worldly creations out there.

This option is a DIY pendant lamp, perfect for hanging over your desk in an office:

Globes aren’t the only DIY lighting on the platform; Pinterest is approximately 98 percent mason jars, and they can make a variety of beautiful lighting fixtures. Whether it’s a vanity light or a hanging pendant fixture, the illuminated glass jars are a budget-friendly lighting hack that injects a comfortable farmhouse feel to your home. For advanced DIYers, you can even create your own chandelier.

And if you’re really the crafting champion, you can use a plastic bottle to create these concrete pendant lights. Yes, concrete! Just be sure you’re comfortable working with cement beforehand.
