PlantTherapy: Summer Source for Colorful Cut Flowers

PlantTherapy: Summer Source for Colorful Cut Flowers

Aug 16, 2008
It's nice to get a bunch of flowers for under $20. And these Zinnia and Cosmos came in at just under $15! Now that it is Summer, the local vendors at the Farmer's Market can't be beat.

River Garden Flower Farm sets up at Union Square and has an eye-popping color selection. I chose chartreuse and purple, but take a look at the shots after the jump and imagine what you could do!

Although these flowers have, for me, not had the lasting power of those that I get at the florist it seems a fair trade for the price and the fact that they are locally grown. Three big bunches of different flowers will run from $6-$8 each and fill up a vase or two, which is perfect for a get-together.
