This $49 Costco-esque Membership Gets You 50% Off Plastic-Free Products for Life
Given the myriad issues we face with the current state of the environment, it’s become even more pertinent for society to focus on ways to collectively reduce the use of plastic, which has the icky tendency to hang around and pollute the environment for centuries after its original use. DIY alternatives are cool and all, but what if someone offered you a creative replacement to the plastic products—at a wholesale price?
In an effort to permanently bid plastic adieu, a company named Etee, known for its line of completely plastic-free, biodegradable household products, has just launched an Indiegogo campaign for a Costco-esque membership that grants users access to its products, with up to a 50 percent discount. Lifetime memberships to the plastic-free club start at $49 through the campaign perks.
This deal specifically will benefit anyone looking for a smart and green bulk shop bargains, (which should be all of us, TBH). With items like completely plastic-free food wraps, and bags in multiple sizes, Etee—an acronym for Everything Touches Everything Else—has helped to eliminate more than 100 million plastic products by swapping the environmentally un-friendly material with biodegradable alternatives such as essential oils, non-GMO soy wax, organic beeswax, organic cotton muslin and tree resin.
In addition to their current products, Etee has expanded its line to include the following 100 percent plastic-free, biodegradable items: bamboo toothbrushes with removable heads, cellulose dishcloths, coconut scrubs and bottle brushes, concentrated liquid dish soap in biodegradable wax containers, dental floss, dryer balls, freezer bags for raw meat and long-term freezing, household cleaning spray, laundry detergent, lip balm, luffa dish scouring pads, stain removal sticks and tubeless chewable toothpaste tabs.
Of its new membership, Etee founder Steve Reble says the goal is to change consumers’ perspectives about the way they use common household items in the hopes of reducing harmful habits.
“It’s possible to shop, eat, drink, and live without plastic, but it isn’t easy. With this new membership, we want to make plastic-free products affordable and accessible to everyone and encourage people to repurpose and re-think how we engage with our household products. With the help of backers, we hope to help populations drastically reduce plastic consumption.”
