Playful Tech: 5 Fun Finds

Whether it is videogame,character-inspired, or just super darn cute, I love playful spins on technology gear. Here are a few everyday tech items that made me smile with their kawaii factor...

Crust Be Dreaming USB + Hub: This toast shaped USB drive is one of the cutest things I've ever seen, and it comes with a matching toaster USB hub! With such a charming duo smiling up at you on your desk, you'll be able to fight off a case of the Mondays.

Cuby: Cuby is an LED light that comes in a cube-shape with bendable arms so that you can clip the light pretty much anywhere you need. This would be perfect for traveling and doing a bit of work at night or as a handy little reading light. Cuby also comes in fun colors - snow, pink and sky.

Jason's Super Power Strip: Even something as functional as a surge protector can be fun. This one is shaped like a lightning bolt and can be fun for Flash developers. The power strip comes with outlets for six plugs.

Nintedo Controller Docking Station: Nothing brings nostalgia better than references to the original Nintendo gaming console and controllers. The GeekUnique Etsy shop has used upcycled Nintendo controllers and made them into iPhone or iPod docking stations.

Canon Camera Lens Mugs: I'm partial to Canons. I've always had great experiences using Canons and currently am very happy with the one I own. To perk up my mornings, I usually like to drink coffee. My morning could be even perkier with this awesome Camera Lens mug. If you're more of a Nikon fan, Photojojo offers these mugs in a Nikon lens as well.
