Plywood Art

We were first introduced to plywood art when our artist friend, Dan created these cool plywood pieces with handmade vinyl decals. So simple and inexpensive we thought we'd round up a handful of inspirational ways to incorporate plywood art into your own home...

Vinyl decals (handmade or bought) seem to be the fastest and easiest way to go when creating your own piece of plywood art. But then again, Laura's found piece of weathered plywood was effortless and can be distressed in the backyard with the elements. We're really digging Plywerk's photo mounting idea to create a salon style grouping of plain plywood pieces. Minimal in design and color but adds a ton of texture to the space. Our favorite just might be J.T.'s artistic vision--taking a drill bits of different sizes and drilling into the wood. His method reveals alternate colors of the plywood making this a great solution for DIY art. If you're like us, drawing simple shapes is within our comfort zone and we found the perfect example for inspiration here.
