Portable Bedrooms: Sleeping on the Road and Sea

Anywhere I roam, where I lay my head is home. It's not often we get to quote Metallica lyrics in an Apartment Therapy post, but they're one of many bands who have written about life on the road. There's something to the idea that your bed is where you make it—especially if that bed can pack up and move with you when you're ready to go.

From trailers to houseboats, we've featured a few portable homes on Apartment Therapy. The bedroom is where you can really see how compact, but also how cozy, these homes are. Each bed has its own distinct personality, and while the view may always be changing, there's a core sense of style that offers a glimpse of who lives there and how they see the world from their window.
