Baby Safety Showers

Tired of those typical baby shower games? Frankly, we're not even sure if they're fun the first time you play them. If you're helping someone plan a baby shower, consider throwing a Baby Safety Shower. We love this idea. Not only is it different, but everyone who attends will be learning about important safety issues and the parents-to-be will come away feeling supported, and also more prepared! The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has a whole kit available online to help you create a Baby Safety Shower.

While the kit provided can be used for larger community events, we think it'll work fine for a smaller, more personal shower. From organizing the shower to the shower day schedule, they have you covered. The game ideas center around questions and answers regarding safety in every room in the house.

They actually provide a lot of things that are ready for you to print out and use. There's an invitation you can print out. There are pre-made cards for "Safety Bingo". There are safety checklists that you can print out and hand out to everyone attending the shower. Our favorite is a baby safety checklist Growth Chart This one's in color and would make a cute favor or extra.

So, forget about your tired old shower themes, and try a Safety Shower. We don't think you'd ever regret it.
