A Growing Obsession's Dainty Succulents

I've never grown succulents, partly because I believe that all plants are constantly thirsty (like I am) and so I would drown them with love, but mostly because I thought they wouldn't fit in stylistically with all my delicate ferns. These dainty specimens have changed my mind:

Denise Ginger of A Growing Obsession created the lovely planting you see above, and a couple others as well, including one with "tiny, starry white flowers"! The pale green succulent is Crassula expansa subsp. fragilis, and the blushing one is Crassula pellucida var. marginalis – two names I intend to write down when I make my next trip to Flora Grubb. I can't get over how pretty they are!

I also can't get over the planters Denise fashioned out of — have you already figured it out? — car jacks. Seriously, car jacks she found in her garage, old window screens, and metal strips (for hangers) from Building RESources in Bay View. Denise, I don't know where I would ever happen upon car jacks, but I would love to see a tutorial on building these planters. Excellent idea and execution!
