Look! Miniature Bauhaus Buildings

International Style. This past weekend we got a chance to stroll through Matter's new Manhattan location and we spied these miniature ceramic Bauhaus Buildings. Immediately reminding us of the Delft ceramic townhomes our grandmother collected, we learned that these miniatures come from the Bauhaus Center Tel-Aviv...

We learned that Tel Aviv has the largest collection of buildings built in the International Style, anywhere in the world. Bauhaus architecture flourished in Tel Aviv in the 1930s due in great part to the fact that 17 former Bauhaus students, worked locally as architects. More information here. We had no idea!

The miniatures were $45 at Matter (though not online as of posting) and $30 from the Bauhaus Center (though unsure of taxes and shipping rates).
