Pottery Barn's Apothecary Media Cabinet

Pottery Barn's Apothecary Media Cabinet

Remember that apothecary cabinet we saw in Elle Decor? Well we just found something similar in Pottery Barn, no this isn't a Friends joke, and it'll not only hold smaller items, it doubles as a media center...

The Andover Cabinet has red drawer fronts that make it look like an old apothecary hideaway from the olden days. This new piece has been made to look like it holds centuries of stories through a multi-step process that includes painting, sanding, stripping, and burnishing.

Some of the small drawer fronts contain actual drawers to tuck secret notes into, while others are just decorative cabinet doors that reveal two adjustable shelves for hiding DVD players and other necessary components.

The first photo shows two Andover Cabinets put side by side to create a large console, but it comes as single 37x14x36-inch units for $699/each or $1299 for a pair. A bit pricey, but it's a creative piece. We would repaint it though. The "fake" weathering isn't done very well in our opinion.
