Power Saving Roundup: Remote Control Lighting

I'm the energy saver, my boyfriend is not. When I leave a room I make sure to turn all of the lights off, my boyfriend does not. Two lights that I can always count on my boyfriend to forget to turn off are the back patio light, and the basement light. It's actually become sort of a joke, well, except for when we get our energy bill.

I was raised in a strict home, we had to turn everything off when we were finished with it. I even had to turn my ceiling fan off while I was at school (I grew up in Orlando, Florida). I'm not that strict about energy in my own home, but, I do think it's necessary to turn lights and televisions off when we're exiting a room.

I'm entertaining the idea of using remotes to turn our lights off. Maybe that will be a little more fun, and god forbid easier for my boyfriend to remember to turn the lights off. Here's a roundup of some of our favorites from the Unplggd archives:
