This Is the One Thing Prince Harry Requests When He Stays in a Hotel

Even though he’s a member of the royal family and one of the most famous people on the planet, Prince Harry seems like a pretty down-to-earth guy. And his easygoing nature is especially on display than when he travels. Some celebrities make dozens of demands and requests when they travel, but not Harry; he is but a simple man who doesn’t even mind flying commercial here and there. Now, we’ve learned that he does have one request when he stays at hotels—but it’s definitely not what you’d expect.

Marie Claire notes that during a recent interview on CBS This Morning, Harry’s good friend and polo player Nacho Figueras shared the Duke of Sussex’s one request to hotel staff: Please stop using so much plastic.

“He was there and we were at the hotel where we spent the night before the game,” Figueras said. “He talked to a person and said, ‘This morning I got my coffee and I saw that you have a plastic thing on the coffee. And then I also sent my shirt and I got my shirt in a big plastic bag. Can we please not use the plastic?’”

It sounds like Harry has cared about the environment for his entire life. It’s an example his father Prince Charles set for him when he and Prince William were young boys. Marie Claire also notes that during a recent interview, Harry said he used to get teased at school for going out of his way to pick up litter.

“I’ve literally done this because I’m programmed to do it because my father did it,” Harry said. “We should all be doing it.”

Well said, Harry. We didn’t think it was possible to like him more, but here we are.
