Here’s Where Newly Engaged Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Will Live
It’s official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged. Clarence House (aka Prince Charles) announced the news Monday morning, saying that the royal and the American actress will be wed in Spring 2018.
The statement also said that “further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course,” and that “His Royal Highness and Ms Markle became engaged in London earlier this month” after “Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.”
Clarence House also announced that the couple will be living in Nottingham Cottage, a two bedroom property that’s on the grounds of Kensington Palace. Harry has lived there for the past four years, while William and Kate lived there when they were first married (before they moved into the expansive 22-room Apartment 1A in the Palace proper).
The space is quite small by royal standards, but is self contained. Apparently, the first thing Harry did after moving in in 2013 was install a hammock in the yard. We wonder how Meghan will put her touches on the place. We imagine it’ll feel more like home once her pups, Bogart and Guy, arrive from staying with her mom in LA while they get the vaccinations necessary to enter the UK.
Meghan was previously renting a house in Toronto while filming Suits, but has already moved out as of earlier this month. From her Instagram, it looks like the actor prefers a neutral palette:
We’ll have to wait and see how she spruces up the royal digs. Congrats to the happy couple!
Update 11.27.17: This post previously featured a floor plan that was proved to not be of Nottingham Cottage.
