Prince’s Private Oasis in Turks & Caicos Is Being Auctioned
The Purple One may have called Minneapolis home, but even the diehard Minnesotan loved an island escape. Now, Prince’s estate is auctioning off the legend’s expansive property in Turks and Caicos.
Prince initially acquired the house and then expanded it by purchasing the property around it. The parcel now includes over five acres on the island of Providenciales. According to a press release, the compound “boasts 10,000-plus square feet including six bedrooms, six full and one half bathrooms, panoramic ocean views, a tennis court, two private beaches and a 200-foot personal dock.”
And if you were wondering if the Purple One used his signature hue anywhere, well, of course he did: “Prince also put his characteristic unique touch on the property by creating a purple driveway welcoming guests to the estate.” Natch.
The late musician’s estate is auctioning rather than selling the property to let the market determine its value, says Todd Wohl, founder of Premiere Estates Auction Company. “How do you value a masterpiece like the Mona Lisa? With a unique property like Prince’s Turks and Caicos estate, we anticipate significant interest and multiple bidders.”
While there is no set price, a registration deposit of $100,000 is required to bid, and will be fully refunded to those who are not the winning bidder.
The auction is taking place on July 12, 2018 at 5 pm ET, and full details are available on Premiere Estates’ website.
