It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas—not only because the day is a week from today, but also because we get a look at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s holiday card. Here’s what you can do to have a royal worthy card yourself.


The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family. The image features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card this year. The photograph shows The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their two children at Kensington Palace. It was taken earlier this year by @chrisjacksongetty Their Royal Highnesses have also announced this morning that Princess Charlotte will attend the Willcocks Nursery School in London from January 2018. The Willcocks Nursery School has said: “We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen the Willcocks Nursery School for Princess Charlotte. We look forward to welcoming Charlotte to our nursery in January.”

Matching but not matchy-matchy

The Duke and Duchess and their two children are all wearing blue, but it’s not overwhelmingly matchy.

Pair it with some life updates

While the Instagram caption isn’t a full blown Christmas letter, Kensington Palace does use the debut of the card to announce some news—that Princess Charlotte will be attending preschool starting in January.

Mix it up

Don’t feel beholden to do the same thing every year. While 2017’s photo is posed, 2016’s was a candid shot from their trip to Canada.

It doesn’t need to be a big fuss

The photo is simple and understated, on a plain white background. No need to do a full production if that’s not your thing.
