Queer Eye’s Bobby Berk Shares His Valentine’s Day Tips for a Cozy Night In
Valentine’s Day is supposed to be completely dedicated to love, however, sometimes the sky-high expectations often lead to jitters, anxiety, and ultimately disappointment, when it’s supposed to be a relaxing day spent with your nearest and dearest. Well, interior design wizard Bobby Berk is here to save the day.
The “Queer Eye” star teamed up with The Bouqs Company to share his top tips for creating a V-Day to remember, whether it’s with a loved one or with yourself. The best part about the Fab Five member’s input? These ideas can all be done from the comfort of your own home.
1. Create a Staycation: Who says you have to leave your home in order to feel like you’re escaping everyday stress? It might be as simple as making a delicious home-cooked meal and popping in your favorite movie. “The evening doesn’t have to be fancy nor does the table setting,” Bobby says. However, he suggests adding some fresh flowers to the setting. ‘Tis the holiday!
2. Make It a Game Night: Get into comfy clothes, pour a few glasses of wine, and get your game face on. This low-key activity requires little preparation and is an easy way to lighten the mood. Bobby says this is also a great way of “breaking the ice” for relationships that are new and still developing.
3. Take Time For a Reboot: Self-care, self-care, self-care. Staying in for Valentine’s Day is a great way to take a few moments to pause and reset from the hustle and bustle of life. Bobby suggests doing this by taking a few moments to refresh, which he does through spending time in the kitchen with his husband Dewey or enjoying the calm before jumping into the day.
