Can you believe? Today is Jonathan Van Ness' birthday, and the Queer Eye star turned 31 with an incredible gift from none other than his momma.
Aside from the show being renewed for a second season, the star got quite the impressive birthday gift. Jonathan shared on Instagram Stories last night that his mom, a talented quilter, had made him one of her creations. And it's not just any quilt—but a quilt featuring the faces of a whole slew of inspiring women from all walks of life.
Anyone who was following the grooming guru during the PyeongChang Olympics knows how much he loves figure skating, and many fierce competitors are featured on the quilt: Tara Lipinksi, Nancy Kerrigan, Tonya Harding, and Michelle Kwan to name a few. The Summer Olympics are also represented through gymnastics, with Simone Biles and Kerri Strug. Other athletes, like Venus and Serena Williams, also make appearances.
But sports stars aren't the only ladies gracing this masterpiece. There are recording artists, like Reba McEntire (whose birthday is also today!) and the Dixie Chicks, as well as famous public figures like Madeline Albright, Princess Diana, and Hillary Clinton. It's also a family affair: Mom herself also makes an appearance on the quilt, along with Jonathan's grandma. Even some fictional ladies made the literal cut, like Blanche Devereaux and the First Wives Club.
The story should be viewable until roughly 8pm EDT, so go watch Jonathan give a tour of this thoughtful work of art over on Instagram.
