Quick Tip On Storing Holiday Cards From Year To Year

There's often so much time and energy spent making family holiday cards that when it comes time to pack up the ones you've received, you're rather sad to see them go. Sure you could hang them on your fridge for a few more months, but then what do you do with them? Scrapbooking is work, cutting them apart seems silly, instead try this simple trick that archives them and allows you to enjoy them year round. Curious?

Well there's nothing Earth shattering here, but sometimes the most simple ideas are the ones that end up sticking and working within our daily lives. Design Mom has been placing holiday cards, graduation announcements, wedding invitations and more in a small basket.

The basket stays out year round and becomes a catalog of sorts that holds the memories and life changing events and photos from the year previous. It's like a scrap book without the work, or a memory book without dealing with photo corners.

Now the family can flip back through all the wonderful items they've received over the years and remember families that might not live as close anymore or check out photos from when children were 1/3 of the size they are now. A basket, that's all it took to keep memories on display at that house! Read more on the idea over at Design Mom.
