When first seeing this nursery over at Design Sponge, we were drawn in by the stunning dove grey area rug and pale grey walls. You know that we think grey, from pale to charcoal, is a great color for childrens' spaces.

Then we noticed that the area rug was actually atop a tannish Berber or other low pile carpet. We think the tan carpet would make a nice flooring for the nursery as well. But this nursery shows us that if you want a different color scheme, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to spend money to change out the flooring. An area rug in the shade that you like plus a quick coat of paint can send a room in a completely different direction like the nursery shown here.
