The Brides: Crystal & Tiffani
Wedding Date: July 13, 2013
Venue: Pretty Klip Point and Sunset Grille, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
Number of guests: 64, including us

These brides know what they're doing. Grabbing 60-something of their favorite people and jetting off to an island destination for a whirlwind wedding weekend of catamaran trips and scuba diving before capping off the vacation with a sweet oceanside ceremony and a whiskey toast. This is what a wedding should look like.

Every aspect of Crystal and Tiffani's wedding was personal. The island of St. Thomas was a destination for their 62 guests, but at the time of the wedding, the brides called it home. "So much of our love story centered around St. Thomas," Crystal told Apartment Therapy, "and it was so important for us to share that with our guests."

Crystal was kind enough to share some more memories from the day with us. Scroll down to read more, then check out more photos from the talented Sage Hammond of Crown Images in the wedding gallery.

How did you meet?
I am event producer, Tiffani was a Nightclub Manager in Hollywood. I was using her venue for an event I was producing and she happened to be working that night. It was love at first sight for me, she needed a little convincing!

How would you describe your wedding style?
Casual and Romantic

What was totally "you" about your wedding?
The ocean setting, so much of our love story centered around St. Thomas and it was so important for us to share that with our guests. We had all of our guests join us for a wedding 'weekend' before the actual big day. We took our guests on a chartered catamaran though the Caribbean, went scuba diving and spent nights dancing in the sand at our favorite beach bars. When the wedding came it was just the most perfect extension of our weekend long celebration.

Did you incorporate any personal or cultural traditions?
We bonded over a love of Jameson so we chose to forgo a Champagne Toast and had a Jameson one instead. Everyone should see the look on their grandma's face after a shot of whiskey at least once!

Biggest challenge:
Getting everyone out to a tiny island in the Caribbean.

Most worthwhile splurge:
Our photographer Sage, for sure! She was amazing to work with and gave us images that we will love for the rest of our lives.

What we skipped or did without:
Other people's opinions. It was important that this day was about us and the most important people in our world. We made all or wedding decisions based on that and nothing else.

Favorite detail:
The open air dining room on the water.

Favorite memory of the day:
Seeing my bride waiting for me at the end of the aisle.

What our guests said:
That it was the most fun wedding they'd been to, obviously!

Your best advice for anyone planning a wedding:
Always remember why you're doing it. I think some people get so caught up in the planning that they forget the reason they're actually planning something. We decided early on that every single part of the wedding should be fun and if we started arguing about anything during the planning stages we had lost focus and it was time to reset.

What else should we know about your wedding day?
It was truly the best day of my life. We spend the most perfect day on the island of our dreams with all the people that we treasured. I wouldn't change a single thing.

Thanks, Crystal & Tiffani!
