10_27_08carlosmotta1.jpgReclaimed wood furniture has such a striking presence in a home. Its warmth invites and offers comfort, but the piece is simultaneously modern and up-scale. And since we've been shopping for a rocking chair for someone special, we stumbled upon this beauty by Carlos Motta while browsing online. This one won't make it all the way to our place, but we love the blocky, modern lines and the fact that each piece is crafted from wood that's been washed up on shore. Jump below for more info about the architect and the link.

Carlos Motta, a surfer and architect, works out of Sao Paolo and strives to make furniture with less of an environmental impact.

We're not sure we could actually purchase one of these bad boys, but we sure will be admiring it.
