Oh how I love this idea over at Creature Comfort blog. You know I am in cleaning mode over at my house. The one thing I didn't discuss in that post were the few toys that the kids and I still love but that they've outgrown. I'd like to hold onto them for sentimental reasons but sitting in a box collecting dust is not for me.
Enter this brilliant idea of recycling these treasured toys into tree ornaments. Wooden puzzles are a great candidate for this project. They are often attractive and well-made, but when your child outgrows them it doesn't have to be the end of the road. Ez of Creature Comforts shows us that a quick turn of the drill and some twine or a ribbon can give a puzzle piece (or other toy) can be given a new and useful life as a tree ornament this holiday season. So start cleaning out that toy bin and see what you come up with.
