Vintage film reels always transport us back in time (plus, we love how they're great conversation starters about old movies). And while we've never seen them for purchase at our local thrift store, we like rounding up ideas for ways to use them--just in case we run across one (or two) in the future...
Just like bike wheels on display, film reels can be mixed easily with reclaimed wood, vintage cameras and books--which go along with the old-school vibe. But we also like the pairing of framed vintage movie posters next to hanging film reels for a themed look--especially in the media room. Far from a wagon wheel coffee table, the movie reel table is playful and fun. A similar look can also be achieved by using parts from a bike (DIY info here).
