Reese Witherspoon Is Crate & Barrel’s New Brand Ambassador
Reese Witherspoon is having quite the year. Her HBO series, Big Little Lies, was an Emmy success, having won five major awards, including Outstanding Limited Series, at the ceremony last month. Now, the actor and Draper James founder has another (decor) project in the works—a partnership with Crate & Barrel.
Witherspoon is the retailer’s newest brand ambassador, and is featured in Crate & Barrel’s holiday campaign about “perfect” entertaining (spoiler: what appears perfect is often a combo of practice and fails).
The partnership means that some items from Witherspoon’s Draper James will be available at Crate & Barrel this season. The two brands will also create co-designed collections for Spring and Summer 2018 and beyond. She even plays an interior decorator in her most recent film, Home Again, and we expect fabulous things from this collaboration.
The Draper James items available at Crate & Barrel for the holidays are decidedly dog themed, and include mugs ($45 for two), a small tray ($28), coasters ($35 for four), and appetizer plates ($65 for four).
Witherspoon talked to Architectural Digest about how she finds inspiration on Instagram:
I love Instagram for design tips. I follow a lot of designers and I think it’s a great way to feel inspired. I love tablescapes, and the way you can see how people put things together is really fun for me. It’s just sort of a passion of mine, and I love to communicate with people and share ideas. I find artists through Instagram who I direct-message and I say, “Hey, I love your work. Can I buy a piece for my office?” This girl Katherine Jones out of Alabama, she does beautiful work. I commissioned a piece for my office. It’s just great to get to know people I never would have met if it weren’t for social media.
Same, Reese, same.
