Refill Used K-Cups With Your Own Coffee

Whenever we ask what peoples' green guilt pleasures are we always get a few answers about single brew coffee machines like Keurig. And while we know that there are refillable inserts available, every once in a while everyone ends up with one of those darned disposable ones lying around the house. Luckily, there's a method for refilling the disposable k-cups making them re-useable over and over.

In a two part tutorial over at Mik Knits (part 1, part 2) they show you how to not only reuse the old cups, but give you a method for adding a new filter once the in the cup fails. This unique method should allow you many more uses than most of the tutorials out there.

What will you need?

  • An old k-cup
  • Glad Press N Seal
  • A coffee filter
  • Fine ground coffee

While this may seem like it takes away the incredible convenience of a Keurig machine, if you did this once a week assembly line style it wouldn't take any more time in the morning.
