Recycling is such an important part of life, we all need to do our part to make this world of ours a better one. Typically we save recycling for diet pepsi bottles and stinky kitten food cans — but we need to broaden our horizons and look at less disposable items.. like, electronics.
The growing popularity of recycling tech is invigorating and exciting. So-long are the days of placing our giant computer monitor on the side of the curb and praying the garbage men take it. Now there are local and even government programs that provide electronic recycling.
Here are a few of our favorite electronic recycling resources:
• Disc Case Turned Lunch Box is one of the most fantastic ways to reuse old tech. Taking your breakfast bagel on the go couldn't be easier than using an old disc case! Heck, we'd poke a hole in any of our sandwiches because this idea is just too cool.
• Recycling Roundup: Where to Recycle Your Electronics is a great resource for recycling your tech both locally and online. Just because you may not have an organization in your town, doesn't mean you can't be a part of it and donate!
• Recycle Your Cell Phone and Donate to Charity is an option not many people explore. Instead of throwing your old phone in a drawer you never open, donate it to people who are in need!
• U.S Environmental Protection Agency is one of the best resources for donating your old electronics. They provide a rather long list on their website of donation programs.
How do you recycle your tech?
