Reused Empty Inkjet Cartridges Lighting

Etsy seller boxlightbox couldn't bear tossing out the abundance of inkjet cartridges her workplace would go thru on a regular basis, so she began taking them with the motive of making something out of them she could enjoy and sell to others. What was once empty plastic is now a colourful hanging chandelier or desk lamp that might help you remember to refill your printer cartridge or perhaps even be more frugal of what you decide to print out...

Each of these is carefully cracked open, dremel-ed, drilled, wired up, and turned into a glowing box of light! Made foremost out of love. Great gifts for graphic designers or anyone in visual arts. Available colors include matte black, cyan, light-cyan, magenta, light-magenta, yellow, light-black, and light-light-black.

One note is the design uses a traditional incandescent bulb where we think a lower temperature CFL or (pricey) LED bulb would be a better and safer choice. Too bad our HP printer cartridges can't used in similar manner...they're just ugly blocks of black.

Available at boxlightbox's Etsy site for $35.00 for a single cartridge desk lamp and $200 for a full chandelier.
