What can you do with a 6'x9' space? Apparently quite a bit if your name is Rhoda, the creative mind behind design blog, Southern Hospitality. She's created an office nook filled with personality and plenty of storage all around, utilizing vertical space and matching baskets/boxes to create a cohesive aesthetic...

What do you like best about your workspace? This little office nook is small, but highly functional. It's been a great space to decorate and keep me organized. Because this space is so small, it was fun to add color and texture to bring it alive.

Any tips or advice about keeping your desk area and/or computer desktop uncluttered and a productive place to work? Add baskets, bins and folders to keep paper clutter at bay. Generic magazine holders can be decoupaged in pretty paper to corral the magazines that we all have in abundance.

If give the opportunity, what would you like to upgrade/replace/improve about where you work? Hardware, software, furnishings, lighting? Would love to add more organizing pieces later on, like a place to house the printer out of the way.

Tech Resource List: Laptops are Acer and Toshiba, printer/scanner is Epson, large monitor is Acer, and the paper shredder is a Fellowes.

Furniture and Decorative Resource List: The desk is from Target online, the shelves above are from Ballard Designs. Bookcase from World Market. The zebra bulletin board is a yardsale frame that I painted and added foamcore and zebra fabric to make my own organizing station.

Inside the bookcase I have magazine holders that were decoupaged with scrapbook paper. The back of the bookcase also has scrapbook paper to add some color to the black piece. I used mismatched baskets under the desk that I spray painted lime green to unify the whole space. The rug is from Pier One. I try to keep things organized by having bins and baskets to help keep things straight. The magazine holders come in handy for all my shelter mags, which are plentiful.
