We're very familiar with ribbon type, which is beautiful and seems to be everywhere these days, but never before have we seen ribbon light. This odd creation out of Japan is like a giftwrapped beehive that we want to unfurl.

The designers at Monochro call their creation the "Swing-Pendant Light" because the pieces rotate in the air, changing the quality of the rays that come through. The ribbon-shaped material is flexible enough to be bounced on the floor and then snap back to its original form. This is a nice solution for an area that needs bright light but not an industrial-feeling fixture.
