Rice Krispie Easter Eggs

We saw this great alternative to decorating traditional Easter eggs on television this morning. Make “eggs” out of Rice Krispie treats mix. This is a terrific idea for parents with younger children for whom egg shells may prove too delicate.

Just make Rice Krispie treats using the usual recipe. Then using buttered hands, shape about a 1/3 cup portion of the mixture into egg shapes. Set up a decorating station with colorful decorating gels, candies, sprinkles…really anything you can think up. The best part is no broken eggs (that can’t be fixed) for Easter.
