Looking to spend your summer On the Road? Or maybe you'd rather find some Zen and do some Motorcycle Maintenance. Either way, you'll want to check out this detailed map of road trips from great literary works.
Richard Kreitner from Atlas Obscura compiled routes from twelve books, from Cheryl Strayed's Wild to F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Cruise of the Rolling Junk.
How did he choose them? "To be included, a book needed to have a narrative arc matching the chronological and geographical arc of the trip it chronicles. It needed to be non-fictional, or, as in the case of On the Road, at least told in the first-person," writes Kreitner.
